Scotland begin their 2024 Autumn Nations Series campaign today against Fiji at Murrayfield.

Gregor Townsend’s side will hope to get off to a winning start in Edinburgh, with reigning rugby world champions South Africa the visitors next weekend before further clashes against Portugal and Australia in November.

It was a rather low-key summer for Scotland that followed their fourth-place finish in the latest Six Nations, when much-changed teams hammered Canada, the United States and Chile as they travelled to both North and South America.

Now they have to step it up against a Fiji side that are capable of beating anyone on their day, though were comfortably defeated by the All Blacks in the summer after battling to victory against Georgia.

Sione Tuipulotu has been named as Scotland’s new captain for this autumn series, while there are starts for the likes of Ali Price, Adam Hastings and Darcy Graham for a fixture that falls outside of the usual international Test window - meaning the hosts are without the likes of Finn Russell, Ben White and Blair Kinghorn.

Fiji have also been forced to name an inexperienced team as a result, missing the likes of skipper Waisea Nayacalevu, Semi Radradra and Josua Tuisova. Head coach Mick Byrne’s entire matchday 23 comes from Super Rugby side Fijian Drua.
