Days after being eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, a few Maple Leafs traded their sticks in for bats and took to Rogers Centre to smack around a few baseballs.

Several players, including Auston Matthews, James van Riemsdyk, Mitch Marner, Frederik Andersen and Matt Martin, were invited to the Toronto Blue Jays home field on Thursday for a little batting practice.

“I haven’t swung a bat in a while so we’ll see,” van Riemsdyk told the camera seconds before going yard. Matthews went long as well, because of course he did, while Mitch Marner wasn’t quite as graceful at the plate as he is on the Ice. Andersen, meanwhile, had a couple more flashes of leather left in his arm, as he made a beautifully-exaggerated barrel role catch at the hot corner.

The club proved against the Washington Capitals they can skate with the NHL’s best. Apparently the boys can mash, too.
