The incident unfolded about 30 minutes into the game during a clash with Real Betis defender Marc Bartra.

Positioned near the centre circle, Olmo was attempting to turn and initiate an attacking play when Bartra challenged him aggressively.

The Betis defender grabbed onto Olmo, almost in the manner of a judo move, and brought him down to the ground. While the foul itself was intense, it was what happened next that drew even more attention.

As Olmo hit the ground, he instinctively brought his hands to his mouth. He soon realised that the cap of one of his teeth had come loose and fallen onto the pitch.

In a moment of urgency, the Barcelona playmaker searched through the grass to locate the missing piece.

“There was no bleeding and he pulled his tooth out,” said Yamal. 

“Was there blood coming out?” asked Pedri to which the youngster replied, “There was no blood coming out. But why did you throw it away?” said Yamal.

“He had it in his hand and I said: keep it, give it to someone,” added Pedri.

Despite the dramatic events and comical exchanges, Barcelona will likely be more concerned about their performance.

Dropping points in such a tightly contested match will not sit well with the team, who have set high standards for themselves this season.
