Quinnipiac is 1-2 so far this season, having lost two games to Maine this last weekend.

The Bobcats lost by one goal in both games, the first being a 2-1 defeat, while the second was a 6-5 loss.

Three Bobcats secured their first collegiate goals in Maine over the weekend, with Tyler Borgula, Chris Pelosi and Aaron Schwartz all finding the net. Borgula scored the Bobcats' lone goal on Friday and finished with a three-point weekend.

New Hampshire goaltender Jared Whale recorded his first shutout with 16 saves when the team tied Merrimack, 0-0, last Friday in the Hockey East opener for both teams. The Warriors won the shootout, 1-0, to pick up two Hockey East points, while UNH earned one point.

Schwartz joins Borgula and Jeremy Wilmer at the top of the team leaderboard with three points in Quinnipiac’s first three games. These are all good signs since Quinnipiac is just getting used to each other with 14 newcomers to the roster (five transfers and nine freshmen).

In the opener UNH beat Bentley 2-1 in overtime. Whale has been the standout so far this season, having stopped 39 of the 40 shots he's seen over the two starts, giving him a .49 goals against average when factoring in his overtime time on ice. This is Whale's first season with the Wildcats, transferring in the offseason after two years at Alaska Anchorage.

The Bobcats have been dominant on home ice since the return of fans to the arena in 2021-22, sitting as the only team in the country to be Top 3 nationally in home winning percentage. Quinnipiac is 49-5-2 at home since the start of the 2021-22 campaign and has won 15 of its last 16 games on home ice. The Bobcats also have gone 39 consecutive games without a home regulation loss, with the last coming on Feb. 25, 2022 to Cornell.
