Watch: Caleb Williams gets jersey number retired at USC

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has had quite the busy week. On Thursday, Williams faced the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, in which they lost 23-20 in gut-wrenching fashion; on Friday it was announced his head coach Matt Eberflus was fired; and on Saturday he was back at the LA Memorial Coliseum.

After two seasons as the quarterback of the USC Trojans, which led to him being the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft and saw him win the Heisman Trophy in 2023, Williams got the highest honor from his alma mater.

During halftime of the Trojans game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Williams had his No. 13 jersey number retired by USC and was honored with his parents by his side, and his teammate -- and Notre Dame alum -- Cole Kmet was also in attendance.

The Trojans Football account also released a tribute video to Williams, with a voiceover from the quarterback talking about his road through his college career.

During his two seasons with the Trojans, Williams set single-season school records for total offense, most touchdowns scored rushing and passing, passes attempted, most passing yards gained, and most passing touchdowns thrown to name just a few of the records he holds.

Williams rookie season in Chicago has been quite the up-and-down ride, but it didn't take long for him to be honored and celebrated by his alma mater.
