WATCH: Brennan Othmann Scores Flashy Breakaway Goal With Roster Spot On The Line

Brennan Othmann just helped his case to make the New York Rangers’ opening night roster a whole lot more.

In the first period of the Rangers’ preseason game against the Boston Bruins, Othmann could smell disaster with Nikita Zadorov fumbling with the puck and he took full advantage.

Othmann stole the puck skating with a burst of speed, which led to a beautiful breakaway goal.

With Peter Laviolette looking to get an extensive look at the young forward, he’s played all three preseason games thus far.

Through the third preseason game, Othmann is playing with a chip on his shoulder as he’s hustling for every puck and his offensive game has been explosive.

The Rangers selected Othmann with the sixteenth overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.
