The NFL's Week 16 slate of games includes Saturday matchups for the second week in a row. The Cincinnati Bengals (8-6) play on Saturday for the second week in a row, this time against an AFC North foe in the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7).

Cincinnati's rattled off three wins in a row after losing their first game with backup quarterback Jake Browning starting in the place of the injured Joe Burrow. Last Saturday's 27-24 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings kept the Bengals right in the thick of the AFC wild card hunt. Cincinnati's currently the sixth seed behind the other Ohio-based AFC North franchise, the Cleveland Browns (9-5). The Bengals' offense is improving but the defense is giving up the second-most yards per game in the NFL. Luckily, that unit stands strong in the red zone by allowing 22.2 points per game, 20th in the NFL.

The last time these two teams met in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh earned a win behind the team's first 400-yard game on offense since September 2020. Since then, the Steelers have lost three in a row, including to two of the worst teams in the league - Arizona and New England - and the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday. That last loss sees them drop to the bottom of the wild card race and led coach Mike Tomlin to make a change at quarterback. Mason Rudolph will start against the Bengals instead of Mitch Trubisky, who was filling in for the injured Kenny Pickett.

The two wild card hopefuls meet on Saturday for a crucial conference game. Cincinnati's one of just two AFC teams without a division win and need a better conference record in case a playoff spot comes down to tiebreakers. Pittsburgh needs a win to end a conference-worst three-game losing streak and keep their playoff hopes alive.
