A young member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona took his pre-season tally to two goals in two games in the early hours of Wednesday.

The player in question? Pablo Torre.

Attacking midfielder Torre, for his part, secured a return to Catalunya’s capital earlier this summer, after a hit-and-miss loan spell on the books of Girona.

The 21-year-old was tipped to carve out a place for himself under the watch of new Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick, owing to his characteristics aligning perfectly with the midfield spearhead role in the German’s 4-2-3-1.

And, to date, Torre has indeed impressed.

After netting the only goal in Barca’s pre-season opener against minnows UE Olot last week, the Spaniard was rewarded with a starting berth against Premier League champions Manchester City on Wednesday.

And Torre, once more, went on to repay the faith of boss Flick.

Late in the first-half in Orlando, the former Racing Santander talent was the beneficiary of a brilliant team move on the part of his Blaugrana teammates.

And Torre made no mistake with his ensuing finish, guiding the ball onto his trusty right foot, before picking out the far corner of Ederson’s net with aplomb.

Check out the strike, which came en route to an eventual 2-2 stalemate, below:
