Watch: Barcelona star scores for Spain at Olympic games
A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was on target on the international stage on Saturday afternoon.
As much came during Spain’s meeting with the Dominican Republic at the Olympic Games.
La Roja are currently locked in action at the Paris showpiece, hopeful of making it two wins from two to start out the competition.
And, midway through the first-half, this is precisely what Santi Denia’s troops were guided towards, by Barcelona starlet Fermín López.
Fresh off a breakout campaign in front of goal at club level in Catalunya’s capital, the 21-year-old again showcased his goalscoring instincts, this afternoon.
Latching onto a poor pass out of the Dominican defence, Fermín took one touch to guide himself into the penalty area.
And, from here, the midfielder made no mistake, directing an unwavering finish into the far corner to hand Spain the lead on the day.
