Manchester City are ‘working on’ bringing in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush this month, it has been reliably reported on Tuesday.

Reports are continuing to intensify surrounding the Premier League champions’ pursuit of the 25-year-old versatile forward as Txiki Begiristain and his colleagues look to reignite the club’s season by strengthening Pep Guardiola’s squad this month.

Manchester City have been linked with numerous potential targets to explore over the course of January, with Omar Marmoush joined by profiles in central defence and in defensive midfield.

Elsewhere, and Manchester City have already publicly denied an intention to chase either Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes or Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi during the January transfer window, largely due to concerns over their availability and the cost required at this stage.

And while several reports are now beginning to raise the prospect of the aforementioned Marmoush joining the Etihad Stadium club this month, many supporters have been left awaiting more reliably confirmation of the status of a potential deal, until now.

Responding to a question from one user on X regarding Manchester City’s reported chase of Eintracht Frankfurt and Egypt international Omar Marmoush, MailSport reporter Jack Gaughan has offered the latest on the transfer pursuit.

“It’s the same as on Friday: he (Omar Marmoush) wants to join this month and (Manchester) City are working on it,” Gaughan wrote on X on Tuesday afternoon.
