Want a ticket for Copa America final at Hard Rock Stadium? Be ready to pay $1,600 or more

If you were thinking of buying tickets for the Copa America final game Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, be ready to shell out big bucks.

As of Thursday morning, the cheapest tickets listed on TicketMaster were in the $1,800 range for 300-level end zone seats and the most expensive were $5,000-plus. The cheapest seats listed on secondary marketplaces VividSeats and StubHub started at $1,600.

Defending champion Argentina, led by captain and Inter Miami star Lionel Messi, will play Colombia, which advanced with a 1-0 semifinal win over Uruguay Wednesday night despite playing the second half with 10 men after the expulsion of Daniel Munoz. Colombia is unbeaten in 28 games in a row, the longest streak in international men’s soccer. The team’s last loss was in 2022, to Argentina.

Ticket prices spiked as soon as Argentina qualified with its semifinal win over Canada. This is likely the last Copa America game of Messi’s career, so that drives ticket prices. Also, Colombian singer songwriter Shakira is performing at halftime.

“Argentina versus Colombia in the Copa America final in Miami, that’s as good as it gets,” said Univision analyst Alejandro Berry. “You look at the ticket prices. That is the Messi effect. Everyone wants to get a look at Messi in a Copa America final, especially to close out what has been a magical story with him winning Copa America and the World Cup and then maybe winning Copa America again. That would be a fantastic way to say goodbye to the national team.”

According to Vivid Seats data, site traffic to the Copa America Final page spiked 225 percent after Argentina defeated Canada 2-0 to advance. The Copa America final is also the hottest sports ticket at Hard Rock Stadium in 2024. Demand for the game rose 17 percent overnight after Colombia secured a spot and is up 211 percent compared to the 2016 Copa America final between Argentina and Chile. Fans are traveling more than 730 miles on average, to catch Argentina and Columbia in Miami on Sunday.

Vivid Seats’ Fan Forecast, proprietary data of crowd projections, also projected Argentina will have 73 percent of the fans in the stadium.

TickPick, another online ticket marketplace, reported the “get-in” price for the Copa America Final at the start of the tournament was $533 and after Argentina secured its spot Tuesday, the “get-in” price hit $1,293 (143 percent more expensive). Following Colombia’s win over Uruguay Wednesday night, the “get-in” price jumped to $2,117 – a 64 percent increase overnight.

TickPick notes that the average purchase price of this year’s final is $1,250 – 182 percent more expensive than the average purchase price of the 2016 Copa America Final ($442), which was held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

With the final taking place at Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, TickPick data shows that the total cost to attend every single Dolphins home game this upcoming season is $1,111, which is 47 percent less expensive than the current “get-in” of the Copa final ($2,117).
