“I want to leave” – Fabrizio Romano updates on potential change in Chelsea attacker’s situation
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on one Chelsea attacker’s situation as we head into another transfer window today.
The January window has now officially opened as we see in another year in the shape of 2025, and we will now start hearing and seeing more and more rumours sparking up no doubt.
Sources: Two Bournemouth defenders ‘ones to watch’ for Chelsea in January, Joao Felix staying, Goalkeeper on hold, more…
Romano has written some updates this week for GIVEMESPORT, and the focus there is surrounding Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku, who has been linked with a move away from the club.
Nkunku did start Chelsea’s defeat against Ipswich Town on Monday night, but he has mainly been forced to sit the bench or start cup games only, which is something he is surely going to be feeling unhappy about and will be wanting to play more.
Chelsea want to keep Nkunku
Romano is quoted saying by GIVEMESPORT:
“Let’s see also what happens with Nkunku. He is always in the news, but Chelsea insists to keep the player at the club, Chelsea want to keep the player at the club.
“It could only change if Nkunku goes there and tells them ‘okay, I want to leave, I want to play more’.
“So in that case, the situation could change, and Chelsea could consider to bring in one more offensive player. But at the moment, they are happy with the squad that they have.”
I can actually see Nkunku saying he wants to leave to be honest. He’s not getting any younger and is in a position now where he just needs to be playing football. He’s not some teenager coming through who is happy to wait for his chance to play. For his career, for his international career, he needs to be playing regular football in league matches as well as the cups.
