Future Chelsea star Estevao Willian has stated he wants to become the most successful Brazilian player in the club’s history.

Chelsea agreed a deal with Palmeiras worth up to £51.4m for the precocious 17-year-old, who will link up with his new team-mates next summer once he’s turned 18.

Estevao is arguably the most exciting of Chelsea’s recent signings from South America and there are high hopes for the youngster.

Having missed out on his former team-mate Endrick to Real Madrid, the Blues acted fast to ensure they didn’t miss out again, even though it was recently reported that German giants Bayern Munich tried to hijack the deal.

The teenager is regarded as the biggest talent in South America and is already a full Brazil international, whilst he’s also been rewriting the history books in the Brazilian league.

Estevao recently surpassed Neymar’s record for most goal contributions for a player under-17 in the Brazilian league and also became the first player under the age of 18 to register 20 goal contributions in a single Brazilian league season.

The fact he’s a regular for Palmeiras at such a young age and already capped by Brazil goes to show what a talent he is and Chelsea are no doubt delighted to have secured his signature.

There are plans for Estevao to visit Cobham before the end of the year and the youngster has been speaking about what he wants to achieve at Chelsea.

“I want to make history, I want to become the most successful Brazilian in Chelsea’s history,” he said as cited by Fabrizio Romano on X.com.

“I want to win titles and show all my potential, show everything I can do. That’s going to be my mission.”
