Want to cheer on Boise State from The Blue? School to host watch party Saturday
Boise State fans will have a chance to sit on The Blue to watch the football team’s season opener at Georgia Southern on Saturday.
Boise State is hosting a free watch party on Saturday at Albertsons Stadium. Fans are invited to watch from the field or in the stands. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., and doors will open at 1.
“We want Bronco Nation to be together and cheering on the Broncos at any opportunity we can get, and what better way to watch the football team open the season on the road than with friends and family on The Blue!” Boise State Athletics Director Jeramiah Dickey said in a news release. “This will be a special way to watch the Broncos as we kick off what we expect to be a special season.”
The game will be shown on the 120-by-50-foot south end zone video board, the largest in the Mountain West Conference.
Both parking and admission to the event are free. Fans are asked to park in the west lot between Albertsons Stadium and ExtraMile Arena, and to select the “Watch Party” option when grabbing a parking ticket from the kiosk.
Fans are encouraged to bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages to the event, as concession stands will not be open. The only drink allowed on The Blue is water, and no chairs with legs are allowed on The Blue.
Seating will also be available in the west stands and around the field, the school said.
The National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies and a high of 92 degrees for Boise on Saturday.
