Ahead of Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann's roster nominations for the coming November international break (due to be released tomorrow), two of Germany's most reliable journalistic sources are now reporting that German-Austrian phenom Paul Wanner has outright declined an invitation to join the senior men's national team.

Both the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Germany's Kicker Magazine claim that the 18-year-old - known to still be on the fence between Austria and Germany - does not wish to jeopardize his chances of playing for Ralf Rangnick's Austrian senior side. Wanner may still opt to play for Antonio di Salvo's Germany U21s, as he did during the October break.

Wanner can still opt to switch to Australia after playing for the German U21s. It's also possible, under certain circumstances, for him to play up to three fixtures under Nagelsmann and still switch to Rangnick's ÖFB. Nagelsmann and di Salvo both commented on Wanner when the teenager declined a U21 call-up in September. Di Salvo also spoke on Wanner after the October call-up.
