Wales predicted XI vs Iceland ahead of crucial Nations League clash

Wales are bidding for promotion when they host Iceland in their final Uefa Nations League on Tuesday evening.

They face off at the Cardiff City Stadium with something on the line for both sides. The Red Dragons can seal a playoff spot or even nab top spot in Group B4, while their Nordic opponents can steal second place with a win.

In order to overtake leaders Türkiye, Wales need Montenegro to do them a favour and beat the Turks while overcoming Iceland. A draw in the group’s other game could open the door for automatic promotion to League A, but that requires them to win by four goals.

After letting a two-goal lead slip the last time they met, manager Craig Bellamy is not concerned with the permutations and only focused on winning this encounter.

“Honestly, I don’t know about the group – all I care about is winning this game. That’s the honest truth,” Bellamy said. “What will be will be.”

Wales team news

There are no new injury concerns for Bellamy following Saturday’s draw in Türkiye. Centre-back Joe Rodon and striker Mark Harris are both available and training fully after their clash of heads.

Kieffer Moore, Wes Burns, Nathan Broadhead, Owen Beck and Luke Harris have all dropped out since the initial squad was named. Midfielders Ethan Ampadu, Aaron Ramsey and Ollie Cooper were all ruled out beforehand.

Wales predicted XI

4-2-3-1: Karl Darlow; Connor Roberts, Chris Mepham, Ben Davies, Neco Williams; Josh Sheehan, Jordan James; Daniel James, Harry Wilson, Sorba Thomas; Brennan Johnson.
