Vote for the Treasure Valley volleyball player of the week (Sept. 16 to 22)

Help us choose the best of the best in the latest Idaho Statesman volleyball player of the week contest.

Polls close at noon Thursday. Read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

You can vote multiple times. This is meant to be a fun way to show support for athletes. This is not meant to be scientific.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.

VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Eva Wall, Fruitland: The sophomore outside hitter had 13 kills, 15 digs and eight aces in a 3-0 sweep of Emmett, and then totaled 24 kills, 18 digs and seven aces in a tri-match sweep of Vale (OR) and Weiser.

Lacey Dougherty, Columbia: In victories over Middleton and Vallivue, Dougherty racked up 34 kills, 18 digs and nine service aces.

Kate Perry, Meridian: The Warriors earned a 14-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-23, 15-13 victory over Mountain View as Perry contributed 12 kills, a .222 hitting percentage, 13 digs, one ace and a perfect serving percentage.

Tiffini Goss, Parma: The Panthers defeated Homedale and Gooding with Goss collecting 28 kills, seven aces, three digs, two blocks and one assist.

Tenesyn Frye, Mountain View: Playing setter, right side and outside hitter, Frye totaled 35 digs, 29 kills, 26 assists and five blocks on the week.

Maija Howse, Eagle: The Mustangs had a busy week, playing seven matches, and Howse amassed 129 kills, 64 digs, 18 aces and nine blocks.

Shaynee McWilliams, Owyhee: The Storm swept Borah and Kuna as their setter dished out 61 assists to go with eight digs, six kills, three aces and three blocks.

Paige Cleverley, Centennial: She led the Patriots in kills with 10 against Kuna and then had a team-best 18 assists in a sweep of Rocky Mountain.

Afton McRae, Kuna: The junior outside hitter leads the team in hitting percentage, averaging 6 or more kills per match. She has eight solo blocks and is averaging 1.6 passing on a 2.0 scale.

Alauna Watts, Rocky Mountain: The Grizzlies went 5-0 at a tournament in Twin Falls over the weekend as Watts contributed 38 kills and 18 aces in wins over Kimberly, Eagle, Twin Falls, Hillcrest and Canyon Ridge.
