Below are the nominees for The Herald high school athlete of the week.

This week’s nominees
Brady Bishop, Indian Land boys’ volleyball: The Warriors’ sophomore had 11 kills in a 3-0 win over Clover Sept. 17.
Bishop also had 12 kills in a 3-1 win at Fort Mill, Sept. 19.
Indian Land is 5-1 overall this season.
Tristan Blake, Legion Collegiate soccer: The Lancers’ junior midfielder scored one goal in a 2-2 tie with Rabun Gap Nacoochee, Sept. 19.
Legion Collegiate is 4-2-2 overall this season.
Collen Boozier, Riverwalk Academy cross-country: The Lions’ eighth-grader ran 22 minutes, 15 seconds to finish 20th while helping the Riverwalk Academy boys’ cross-country team to victory at York Prep Sept. 17.
Boozier ran his second personal-best time of the week in 21:58.89 to finish 17th, while leading the team to another victory at York High Sept. 19.
Boozier has shaved over two minutes off his personal-best time since the beginning of the season.
C.J. Couch, Catawba Ridge football: The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder went 31 of 45 for 381 yards passing and two touchdowns in a 30-0 win at Fort Mill, Sept. 20.
Couch has passed for 1,461 yards and 14 touchdowns for Catawba Ridge (4-1) this season.
K.T. Gill-McDonald, Rock Hill football: The 5-foot-10, 180-pound junior middle linebacker had 10 tackles, one tackle for loss and one interception in 27-21 win at Clover Sept. 20.
Rock Hill is 2-3 this season.
Liam Manale, Fort Mill swimming: The Yellow Jackets’ senior won the 100 butterfly and helped the 400 freestyle relay to victory as the Fort Mill boys’ swim team also won a quad-meet with Rock Hill, South Pointe (SC) and York at Rock Hill Aquatic Center Sept. 17.
Manale also finished second in the 200-medley relay and third in the 200 individual medley at the same meet.
Manale also helped the 200 medley relay to victory, while taking second in both the 100 butterfly and 400 freestyle relay. Fort Mill stayed unbeaten on Senior Night, defeating the Governor’s School for Math and Science, Indian Land and Northwestern at Fort Mill Aquatic Center Sept. 19.
Jayden Mathis, Northwestern girls’ volleyball: The Trojans’ junior had 43 assists, 14 digs, 10 kills and three aces in a 3-1 win over rival, Rock Hill Sept. 17.
Northwestern improved to 3-7 overall this season with the victory.
Judah Nash, Rock Hill cross-country: The Bearcats’ senior ran a 16:45 to finish fifth in the Boys’ 5K Invitational race at the Hare and the Hounds’ Invitational at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte Sept. 21.
Nash ran a personal-best 16:29 at Fort Mill Sept. 3.
Ella Nighbor, Clover cross-country: The Blue Eagles’ junior ran a 19:37.28 to win the 5K race at Northwestern High Sept. 18.
Nighbor, who beat the field by one minute and 27 seconds, also led the Clover girls’ cross country team to victory at the same meet.
Finley Polk, Northwestern football: The 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior quarterback went 18 for 20 for 355 yards passing and three touchdowns in a 67-14 win over Nation Ford Sept. 20.
Polk also rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown in the same game.
Polk has 1,395 yards and 20 touchdowns, while rushing for two more scores for Northwestern (5-0) this season.
Ava Shook, York cross-country: The Cougars’ junior ran a 20:26.10 to win the 5K race on her home course, in a tri-meet with Belmont South Point and Riverwalk Academy Sept. 19.
Shook, who beat the field by 3 minutes and 15 seconds, also led the York girls’ cross country team to a second-place finish at the same meet.
Triston Snodgrass, York football: The 6-foot, 200-pound senior linebacker had 15 tackles, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble in a 17-14 win over Dreher Sept. 20.
Snodgrass has 41 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and a sack for York (2-3) this season.
