Below are the nominees for The Herald high school athlete of the week.

This week’s nominees
Marloh Buford, Northwestern girls’ tennis: The Trojans’ sophomore helped the No. 2 doubles’ team to a 6-0, 6-2 win to help Northwestern to its first team victory of the season, beating South Pointe 5-1 Sept. 11.
Buford also won her No. 8 junior varsity singles match, 8-2, against Clover Sept. 10.
Malik Clark, Rock Hill football: The 6-foot-3, 188-pound senior wide receiver had seven catches for 148 yards and a touchdown in a 49-30 loss to Hartsville Sept. 12.
Clark, a Florida State University commit, has 27 catches for 343 yards and two touchdowns for Rock Hill (1-3) this season.
Alivia Cleveland, Fort Mill girls’ cross-country: The Yellow Jackets’ junior ran a 18:05 to finish as runner-up at the Warrior XC Invitational at Pawleys’ Island Sept. 14.
Cleveland’s efforts also helped the Fort Mill girls’ cross country team to victory at the same event.
Ava Corbi, Fort Mill Girls’ swimming: The Yellow Jackets’ senior won all four events she competed in, including the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay in a quad-meet with Riverwalk Academy, Rock Hill and Westwood at Rock Hill Aquatic Center Sept. 12.
Corbi’s efforts also helped the Fort Mill girls’ swim team to victory at the same meet.
Christian Griffin, Buford Football: The 5-foot-8, 150-pound senior kicker went 2-for-2 on extra points and had four punts for 161 yards (40.25 average) in a 56-20 loss at McBee Sept. 12.
Griffin also had four kickoffs in the same for Buford (1-3).
Jay McCoy, York Football: The Cougars’ senior wide receiver had seven catches for 154 yards and a touchdown in a 37-6 loss to Clover Sept. 13.
McCoy has 22 receptions for 309 and three touchdowns for York (1-3) this season.
Carson Pinti, Clover football: The Blue Eagles’ junior outside linebacker had eight tackles, two sacks and one pass breakup in a 37-6 win at York Sept. 13.
Clover is 3-1 this season.
Kyle Robinson, Northwestern football: The 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior linebacker had 10 tackles and two sacks in a 28-14 win at South Pointe Sept. 13.
Robinson had 24 tackles and 2.5 sacks for Northwestern (4-0) this season.
Ava Shook, York Girls’ cross-country: The Cougars’ junior ran a 19:59.11 to win the 5K race on her home course Sept. 12.
Shook, who beat the field by 35 seconds, also led her York girls’ cross country team to a runner-up finish at the same meet.
Hunter Willis, Riverwalk Academy: The Riverwalk Academy eighth-grader ran a 18:43 to finish third overall at the “Fit to Fly 5K,” at the Rock Hill/York County Airport Sept. 14.
Willis also ran a 18:47.92 to finish eighth overall at Clover Sept. 11.
Bryanna Young, Legion Collegiate volleyball: The Lancers’ senior had 16 kills, four aces, three digs and one assist in a 3-0 win over Dutch Fork Sept. 10.
Legion Collegiate is 13-2 overall this season.
