With Victor Osimhen’s departure from Napoli, Dusan Vlahovic has become the highest-paid player in Serie A, followed by Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolò Barella.

The main reason that Napoli wanted to get the Nigeria international off their books was the upgraded contract worth over €10m per season.

He was eventually loaned to Galatasaray, with the Turkish club covering €6m in wages, as Napoli paid for July and August, with image rights removed.

This means Vlahovic is now the highest-paid player in Serie A on €12m per season net at Juventus.

He is followed by a trio of Inter players who recently signed new and improved contracts, as Lautaro Martinez is on €9m net plus bonuses, Calhanoglu and Barella both get €6.5m plus add-ons.

Inter dominate Serie A wage charts

Marcus Thuram and new Napoli signing Romelu Lukaku are on €6m, the Belgian taking a significant pay cut to push through his exit from Chelsea.

Inter continue to dominate the charts set out by Calcio e Finanza, as Alessandro Bastoni is on €5.5m per season and Benjamin Pavard €5m.

This is just the set pay, so does not take performance-related bonuses into account, and those can have a significant effect on the wages eventually paid.

For example, Rafael Leao at Milan is on €5m per season, the same as Arthur, Douglas Luiz and Gleison Bremer at Juventus.
