A significant update on the future of transfer-linked Barcelona star Vitor Roque has on Tuesday come to the fore.

This comes amid claims that the Brazilian international could soon take his talents to Italy.

It is of course common knowledge that the future of frontman Roque remains firmly up in the air, ahead of the new campaign.

After failing to convince ex-manager Xavi of his qualities across his first six months at the club, it is unclear how the Brazilian is faring in efforts to achieve as much under the watch of Hansi Flick.

Those of a Blaugrana persuasion desperate to see Roque stay put for the campaign ahead, in turn, will no doubt be concerned to hear of the latest word on the situation stemming from the Italian media.

As per a report from Il Messaggero, as cited by Diario Sport, Lazio are actively working to bring Roque to Rome for the 2024/25 campaign.

As much comes with the player himself having been left unconvinced by the recent offer for his services stemming from Saudi Arabia.

After seeing their own proposal for a loan with option to buy knocked back by Barcelona, Lazio, in turn, have returned to the table, with the plan laid out as follows:

‘They would be willing to put up around 20 million euros for fifty percent of the economic rights of the striker, convinced that he can give very good performance and that a sale could take place in the future that would be beneficial for both Lazio and Barça.’

It now remains to be seen whether the Camp Nou brass are willing to move ahead under such conditions…
