Yahoo Sports Vincent Kompany offers Bayern Munich squad update ahead of Freiburg clash
João Palhinha and Sacha Boey could return to the Bayern Munich squad for their Bundesliga game against Freiburg on Saturday afternoon, but they will be without Alphonso Davies.
Konrad Laimer is also suspended for the game, meaning fans could see the return of Josip Stanisic – who has played just 90 minutes this season – after recovering from knee surgery.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game, Vincent Kompany said (ht: iMiaSanMia): “We’ve got final training later and then we’ll know more. Phonzy is injured, Konrad Laimer is suspended. João Palhinha and Sacha Boey could come in to the equation and we need to see how the others react.”
As reported by BILD, Davies is expected to be sidelined for around two and three weeks after going off injured in the Rekordmeister’s 3-0 defeat against Feyenoord on Wednesday night.
Davies will miss Bayern’s games against Freiburg, Slovan Bratislava, Holstein Kiel and potentially Werder Bremen, and the first leg of their Champions League playoff should they fail to earn an automatic knockout spot.
