Villa's Jordan Nobbs breaks WSL appearance record in Brighton clash 👏
Aston Villa and England Women’s star Jordan Nobbs has made a bit of history in her side’s clash with Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
The game is her 193rd in the Women’s Super League, breaking the competition’s record.
The 31-year-old made the bulk of her WSL appearances with Arsenal, who she left to join Villa last year, and has now overtaken Sophie Ingle in the all-time rankings.
Ingle had more appearances prior to the start of the season with 192, but is likely to miss the entire 2024/25 campaign having suffered an ACL injury, meaning Nobbs is likely to streak clear in the coming months.
Mary Earps is in third place with 188, but now plies her trade in the French league with PSG.
Of the current fit and active WSL players, Chelsea captain Millie Bright and Man City star Laura Coombs are the closest to Nobbs with 184 appearances apiece.
The record is just the latest accolade in a stunning career for Nobbs, who has won three WSL titles, as well as multiple individual honours and 71 England caps.
