Viewership numbers for The Showdown would rank near the bottom of 'The Match' series
On Tuesday, the PGA Tour's Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler made easy work of LIV Golf's Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka during "The Showdown" at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. Fans had been clamoring for a Tour versus LIV match for years, so you'd think the viewership numbers would've been good.
But you'd be wrong.
A total of 625K viewers tuned into The Showdown across TNT and TBS, according to Josh Carpenter of the Sports Business Journal. That would rank as the second-lowest of any of "The Match" series events.
