(Video): “We need to work” – Insights into Enzo Maresca’s first Chelsea training sessions

Enzo Maresca really got down to work at Cobham yesterday for the first time since being confirmed as the new head coach of The Blues.

Maresca has been officially working as the new Blues boss since last Monday, but he really got down to work yesterday as the majority of the players returned to Cobham.

Maresca has a huge squad to work with, and they got down to business yesterday where he put the lads through their paces.

Time to work

As in the above video, you will hear Maresca saying: “Now is the moment we need to work…everyday, everyday, everyday….”.

The players did some conditioning work in the gym, then they went through their paces out on the pitches doing some fitness work with the bleep test, and then got to work on the ball. Passing in tight spaces was a big theme of the sessions and one touch movement of the ball.
