Veteran Spanish defender offers himself to Bernabeu; Real Madrid make their stance clear
Sergio Ramos’ name has been ringing in Madrid ever since Eder Militao picked up a serious ACL injury during the win over Osasuna.
The Brazilian international has been ruled out for the rest of the season, leaving Carlo Ancelotti with just one centre-back at his disposal.
Keeping that in mind, Ramos has emerged as a potential option for Real Madrid, with former player Guti even urging Los Blancos to sign the veteran.
Ramos offers himself to Real Madrid
A recent report from Defensa Central suggests Ramos himself has already offered himself to Real Madrid.
It appears the veteran is in favour of a return to Santiago Bernabeu, three years after leaving the club.
Ramos played for Real Madrid for 16 years, featuring in almost 700 competitive matches. But he abruptly left the Bernabeu in 2021, following a disagreement with Florentino Perez over his contract.
Real Madrid have a clear stance
Despite Ramos offering to build the bridges, the report suggests Real Madrid have made their final stance on the subject.
The reigning European champions are not interested in re-signing Ramos despite their ongoing injury crisis in the defensive unit.
The club rule out the defender’s return due to his age and current form. Ramos. after all, hasn’t played any football since leaving Sevilla in the summer and is currently a free agent.
Another reason behind Real Madrid’s non-approval of Ramos could be the player’s strained relationship with Florentino Perez. Therefore, all signs point to the January market, as Real Madrid look to shore up their ranks in defence.
