“Very strange deal” will be undone within a year predicts transfer insider
If Chelsea want to continue buying players they’ll have to continue selling them too, and the current name being mentioned most often as potentially on the chopping block is a funny one.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall only arrived this summer from Leicester, but already the rumours writers are claiming he’s on his way out. He’s played just 44 minutes all season, and has even lost his place in the B team at times, so one can understand why it might end up being a rapid departure.
This morning we reported on claims that Spurs are keen on snapping the box to box man up, but that idea has been pretty efficiently shut down on the basis that our rivals would never do us such a huge favour.
However, there are still plenty of people convinced that we could shift KDH next summer. Writing in quotes picked up by the Chelsea Chronicle, transfer insider Graeme Bailey has set his stall out by doubting the midfielder will be at Chelsea next year:
“Maresca knew about him and knew he was a quality player. It was a very strange deal. I don’t think he’s going to be at Chelsea at the start of next season. It is what it is.
“He’s not the only one it will happen to. Chelsea are well set in that department.”
All signs point to quiet Dewsbury-Hall departure
There’s a small chance Dewsbury-Hall makes an impact in the second half of the season, but we really can’t see it. The fact that he likes to play as the most attacking of the midfielders means he wants a role which is the most competitive in the team – Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez and others are all ahead of him in the queue for minutes.
It may not be to Spurs, but we’re sure he will be shuffled out of the back door on loan or a permanent deal in the summer if nothing changes.
