Versatile young forward becomes Flick’s pick for Barcelona pre-season

The pre-season will prove to be a great testing ground for FC Barcelona before the official campaign. At the moment, new head coach Hansi Flick needs to gather all the information he can get his hands on. However, to do that, every day of the pre-season will be important for the Barcelona coach.

While most of the first-team players, the ones currently on international duty, will not return to meet up with Barcelona again until the end of July, Hansi Flick has players from the subsidiary at his disposal. That is why, as per reports, the Barcelona coach has been compiling data on them in an extensive manner.

In turn, that data has allowed the Barcelona coach to understand which players are worth putting more focus on. Noah Darvich is one of those players, and Hansi Flick’s German connections and assistants are helping in that choice.

Another name that stands out for Hansi Flick is that of Ángel Alarcón, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 20-year-old forward is expected to be a part of the Barcelona first team’s pre-season, and just like Noah Darvich, he will be starting that pre-season early from the 10th of July.

A versatile young forward who can play in any position across the frontline, Hansi Flick reportedly values this trait that the player possesses. Previously, Alarcón enjoyed a lot of prominence under Xavi Hernandez as he was another one of the great promises that the Egarense coach seemed to value a lot.

Moreover, since the player possesses good positional sense and a great goal-scoring ability, he proves to be a danger no matter where he is played. For this reason, Flick wants to count on the Barcelona Atletic forward, who himself will be hoping to impress his new German coach.

Last season, Alarcón suffered some unfortunate setbacks that kept him from featuring more with the first team. However, he was available for Barcelona Atletic coach Rafa Marquez at some important stages of the subsidiary’s season, and will now be looking to do the same and get to impress Flick with a head start before the other first-team stars return from international duty.
