Varane dropped from Como Serie A squad after 23 minutes
Raphael Varane has been dropped from Como’s Serie A squad list, having played for just 23 minutes since his arrival this summer.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United centre-back was handed his debut by Cesc Fabregas in the Coppa Italia clash against Salernitana on August 11, but the Frenchman lasted just 23 minutes before hobbling off with an injury.
Reports confirm that he suffered an issue with the flexor muscle in his thigh, and Saturday’s news suggests that his injury is likely to keep him out long-term. He has not yet played a single minute in Serie A.
Varane joined Como as a free agent earlier this summer, following the expiry of his contract with Manchester United.
He was one of several high-profile names who joined Fabregas’s project this summer, including former Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto and ex-Liverpool stars Pepe Reina and Alberto Moreno.
Varane, however, will not be able to feature in Serie A matches until the next time Como update their official squad list.
