Vancouver Canucks Loan Ty Young To Abbotsford

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned goaltender Ty Young to Abbotsford, it was announced Friday.

Young, a 2022 fifth round pick of the Canucks, has split time between the AHL and ECHL this season. In five appearances with Abbotsford, he has collected a record of 3-2-0 to go along with a 2.41 GAA and a .915 SP. In the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings, Young has compiled a record of 4-3-0, a GAA of 2.35 and a .929 SP in seven appearances.

A product of Coaldale, Alta., Young is in his first season of pro hockey after parts of four seasons with the WHL’s Prince George Cougars.

With Young’s play so far this season, he has solidified himself as a prospect to watch in the Canucks’ system. While he has seen time in the ECHL, Young looks like he’ll be in Abbotsford full time next year or even sooner.
