Valencia close in on first signing of Carlos Corberan era as deal agreed for Nigerian striker
The first half of the season was disastrous for Valencia, and their poor form has meant that they occupy a place in the La Liga relegation zone. New head coach Carlos Corberan has been tasked with guiding Los Che away from trouble, although he will require help on the transfer front for this.
On the second day of the 2025 winter transfer window, Valencia have already agreed their first deal – and it is for Umar Sadiq. As per Diario AS, Real Sociedad have allowed the Nigerian striker to make the move to the Mestalla on loan for the remainder of the season.
It is expected that Sadiq will join Valencia next week, meaning that he will miss Friday’s match against Real Madrid.
Valencia have struggled for goals this season, so bringing in Sadiq should help in this regard. It will be interesting to see whether this affected Rafa Mir’s future, as he has been linked with a return to Sevilla.
