USMNT reveals the 2018 jerseys it won't be wearing to the World Cup this summer

U.S. Soccer unveiled its new kits for the 2018 year on Friday, and in truth they look sharp:

The “dark” kit is navy blue with seven regular blue stripes running halfway across the front to represent the 13 stripes on the United States flag, which of course represent the 13 original colonies. According to the release, the kit also features a custom, NASA-inspired badge that “reflects excitement in embracing the unknown through a gesture to space travel.”

The “bright” kit is even sharper, with the same nominal design as the dark kit only with a white primary color and red-and-blue stripes running across the front. The dark kits will be debuted by the U.S. men in their friendly against Paraguay on Tuesday, while the U.S. women will debut the light kit against Mexico on April 5.

Alas, fans won’t be able to see the United States men rock these kits during June and July, not after a zany night in Trinidad last October means they’ll miss the World Cup.

But hey, at least they’ll look good doing it, right?
