USCHO Poll: Colorado College Still Perfect

No. 1 stays No. 1. Again.

The Denver Pioneers made quick work of Lindenwood this past weekend, outscoring the Lions 8-2 in the two-game series.

Sophomore defenseman Eric Pohlkamp tallied four points (all assists), including a career-high three assists in Friday's win.

Meanwhile, sophomore forward Sam Harris racked up three goals, including two in Denver's 4-1 win on Saturday night.

The Pios will look to keep their unbeaten record alive and well against rival North Dakota this weekend.

#2 Boston College (2)

Boston College made a statement this past weekend against No. 5 Maine.

The Eagles stormed back from a two-goal deficit on Friday and potted the go-ahead goal late in regulation. The following night, BC blanked the Black Bears.

Sophomores Ryan Leonard and Jacob Fowler are standing out for Boston College this season. Leonard potted two more goals while Fowler collected his third shutout.

The Eagles travel to UConn for just one game this weekend before a showdown at Providence awaits early next week.

#3 Minnesota

The Gophers took both games in the Border Battle against Wisconsin this past weekend.

Minnesota trailed by a pair of goals on Friday but rallied to stun the Badgers.

The following night, the Gophers found the back of the net in overtime to complete the weekend sweep.

Junior forward Jimmy Snuggerud had himself a big weekend, racking up two goals and two assists, including the primary helper on Minnesota's overtime winner.

The Gophers go up against Bemidji State in a home-and-home series this weekend.

#4 Michigan State

The Spartans opened league play with a weekend sweep over Ohio State.

Michigan State held off a late comeback from the Buckeyes on Friday before roaring back with four answered goals the following night.

Sophomore netminder Trey Augustine picked up a pair of wins, turning aside 51-of-54.

Michigan State hosts Notre Dame for two next.

#5 Michigan

Michigan won its fourth consecutive game with a two-game sweep over the Fighting Irish.

The Wolverines fell behind 1-0 on Friday but answered with a goal late in the second period and the overtime winner.

The following night, Michigan pulled away late by a 4-2 final score.

Sophomore forward Evan Werner scored two more goals, including the overtime winner on Friday night.

Michigan is idle this coming weekend. However, a road trip to Penn State awaits when they return to action.

Notables

#8 Colorado College

The Tigers remain a perfect 8-0-0 on the season after defeating Arizona State this past weekend.

Colorado College tied the game with under one minute left in regulation and won in overtime on Friday.

The following night, CC pulled away late to take both games.

The Tigers have one of the highest-scoring offenses, averaging 3.8 goals per game, seventh-best in the country.

Meanwhile, junior goaltender Kaidan Mbereko added two more wins to his resume, stopping a combined 68-of-71, including 41 on Saturday,

CC travels to Kalamazoo for a two-game series against Western Michigan next.

#10 Providence

The Friars continue their ascent in the standings after skating to a tie on Friday and an overtime win on Saturday against Northeastern.

Freshman forward Trevor Connelly returned to the lineup and tallied two goals and five points, including the game-winner in the extra session on Saturday.

Providence plays in a home-and-home with UMass this weekend before a mid-week against Boston College.

#17 Dartmouth

Hello, Big Green.

Dartmouth has started the season 4-0-0 after picking up an impressive pair of wins over Quinnipiac and Princeton this past weekend.

Senior forward Sean Chisholm recorded three goals, including two on Saturday, on a combined 10 shots.

Dartmouth will host Cornell and Colgate this weekend.

#20 Harvard

The Crimson collected two wins this season and boasts a 2-1-0 record.

Harvard won Friday's game in overtime over Princeton before skating to a 3-0 win over Quinnipiac on Saturday.

The Crimson saw seven different skaters find the back of the net between the two games.

Freshman forward Mick Thompson potted the game-winner in the extra session on Friday night.

Colgate and Cornell in Cambridge are on deck this weekend.
