Manchester United have reportedly had a written proposal for Leny Yoro accepted by Lille

That’s according to journalist Nabil Djellit, who claims the Red Devils tested Lille’s resolve with a €50 million (£42m) bid, which is considerably higher than what Real Madrid have been offering over the past week of negotiations.

He adds that United are actively pushing to reach an agreement despite Yoro’s preference to join the 15-time European champions. The 18-year-old has made clear his desire to make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu amidst interest from the Reds, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain – he has given the Spanish giants ‘absolute priority’.

United unlikely to come out on top in Yoro pursuit

A fresh report from The Athletic only this morning stated that Yoro would be willing to stay in France and see out the remaining year of his contract to then move to Madrid for free in 2025. Lille are, of course, reluctant to let this happen, so may be forced into lowering their financial demands.
