“Unhappy” Marcus Rashford accuses Man United of sounding out potential buyers without his knowledge
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly unhappy with the club after they informed potential buyers he is available for transfer without his knowledge.
Rashford was left out of United’s squad for the third game in a row for their clash with Bournemouth on Sunday.
Despite that, he was in attendance at Old Trafford for the contest and was even spotted posing for pictures with mascots just before kick-off.
The England international has dominated headlines over the past few days amidst suggestions that United are prepared to offload him as early as in January.
Rashford fuelled speculation over his future at the club after he admitted his desire for a “new challenge.” Ruben Amorim has repeatedly insisted that he wants to keep the 27-year-old but this has done very little to quell the noise surrounding the player.
A number of possible destinations for Rashford have been mentioned including Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and the Saudi Pro League.
However, there is an acceptance that his mammoth wages of well over £300,000 per week will greatly limit any significant interest in his signature.
Now, Samuel Luckhurst of Manchester Evening News reports, “Marcus Rashford is unhappy that Manchester United sounded out potential buyers for the forward without informing him.”
“Sources close to Rashford have accused United of informing clubs of the 27-year-old’s availability and that he was unaware of the developments.”
“United have not made a concrete decision to sell Rashford and well-placed sources say no specific conversations with intermediaries have been held about him, though they concede it is probable Rashford was mentioned given the speculation over his future.”
Luckhurst explains that it’s possible Rashford has played his last game for United.
It’s understood that no United executive has put pressure on Amorim to leave Rashford out of his matchday squads.
MEN note that Rashford trained with his teammates on Monday morning. United are back in action on Boxing Day when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium.
