Unhappy 49ers fan edits Trent Baalke's Wikipedia page

The San Francisco 49ers might be the worst team in the NFL. Yes, the Cleveland Browns are winless, but taking a glance at the 49ers roster, there’s not a lot there. And to many fans of the once-dominant franchise, that is the fault of one man: general manager Trent Baalke.

So one frustrated fan tried to exact some revenge on Baalke.

As The Mercury-News discovered on Monday, someone did some … creative editing to Baalke’s Wikipedia page.

After the standard biographical information, like Baalke’s date of birth and ascension through the San Francisco organization, the vandal added these sentences:

“Despite the incredibly awful job he has done, and continued success in embarrassing and destroying this organization, gutless [team owner] Jed York refuses to fire Baalke. An 11 year old can see that Baalke is running this team into the ground, but York doesn’t care as long as he continues to make a profit. Baalke also seems to have some sort of power over York, so until York grows a pair Trent Baalke will continue to destroy this organization for the foreseeable future.”

By Tuesday morning, the officials at Wikipedia caught the additions and restored the page to its proper state. But for that one disgruntled fan, it was likely fun while it lasted.
