Italy’s entertaining 3-1 victory over France at the Parc des Princes on Friday night was described as ‘unforgettable’ by full debutant Samuele Ricci, while Giovanni Di Lorenzo praised the group’s character after conceding an unfortunate goal after just 14 seconds.

‘Forza Azzurri,’ wrote the captain, Donnarumma, who put in a solid performance between the Azzurri sticks. It would have been a clean sheet had it not been for the unfortunate slip after 14 seconds.

“What a performance, what a night,” wrote Arsenal and former Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori, who was one of several Italy players worthy of winning man-of-the-match on Friday night.

“Together,” wrote Alessandro Buongiorno, who came on to replace Calafiori midway through the second half. The Napoli man looked solid when he entered.

Samuele Ricci dubbed it an ‘unforgettable night,’ after making his full debut for the senior national team. His only other cap at this level came off the bench back in 2022 under Roberto Mancini.
