‘Unfinished business.’ Penn State defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton to return for 2025 season

A massive day of Penn State returnees continued Monday evening when defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton announced his return to the program.

Dennis-Sutton made the announcement on the social media platform X, just hours after running backs Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton posted the same decision.

“We were on the brink of greatness, and that taste of what could be has only made me hungrier,” Dennis-Sutton’s statement read. “The job’s not done yet — we’ve got unfinished business to take care of together.”

He was overshadowed in 2024 by fellow defensive end Abdul Carter, but put together a strong season and had a big College Football Playoff that could have made him an early round pick. He finished the year with 8.5 sacks, 4.5 of which came in the playoff, along with an interception and forced fumble against Notre Dame.

Carter’s departure will make Dennis-Sutton a focal point of the defense that will return defensive tackle Zane Durant and several other key players.

The group, however, will likely be coordinated by a different coach with current DC Tom Allen set to leave for Clemson.
