UNDER-18, A SEASON ON PROGRESS

The long season of the AC Milan Under 18's team, coached by Christian Terni, came to a close last weekend. The team played an impressive 32 matches and consistently remained near the top of the standings throughout the season, narrowly missing out on a spot in the category's Scudetto playoffs in the final stages. This achievement is noteworthy, especially considering that this year the championship was held in a single-round format.

It was a season of growth, confirming the decidedly positive trend of the Rossoneri youngsters in 2023/24. In a more competitive league, considering that from 3rd to 9th place, teams were separated by just 9 points, Terni's boys finished with the best defence. They conceded only 31 goals, a figure that improved upon that of 2022/23, when the team played five fewer matches, conceding 36 goals in total.

The reference for this category, players born in 2006 , saw many players also making appearances in the Primavera league, starting with the team's top scorer, Luca Martinazzi. He scored 7 goals with the Under 18's , and throughout the season, he also made two appearances in the Youth League and scored a goal in the Primavera Coppa Italia, in the victory against Samp. Overall, 13 Rossoneri players found the joy of scoring during this season.

Behind Martinazzi stands midfielder Alessandro Lamorte with 6 goals (who also made his debut with the Primavera team, in a league match against Genoa). On the third step of the podium are Perina and Siman, both with 4 goals, followed by Ibrahimović and the well-known face from the Primavera, Mattia Liberali, each with 3 goals. For all of them, as well as for the other protagonists of the season, there is the opportunity to shine next year at the higher level, to continue their development.
