UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar was arrested Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas on three charges including DUI.

The Clark County Detention Center shows that Bonnar was held on DUI, resisting a public officer and unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle.

Report: Drivers surrounded Bonnar before police arrived

TMZ reported that Nevada Highway Patrol officers told them that Bonnar, 41, was driving around 90 mph in his Cadillac CTS on Interstate 15 around 1:15 p.m. when concerned drivers managed to surround his vehicle and restrain him until police arrived on the scene.

Bonnar appeared incoherent when officers arrived, according to the report, and resisted when police placed handcuffs on him.

Bonnar was a star of the first season of “The Ultimate Figher” in 2005 where he finished as the runner-up and earned a six-figure UFC contract.

Bonnar part of ‘most important fight in UFC history’

His decision loss to Forrest Griffin in the light heavyweight final was voted fight of the year by an MMAWeekly poll and regarded by UFC president Dana White as “the most important fight in UFC history” for its role in popularizing the sport.

“That’s the moment, the night Forrest and Stephan put on that incredible fight, the crowd was going crazy and numbers turned out to be huge,” White told Yahoo Sports. “I could sense it. It’s weird, we signed the contract [for a second season with Spike] right after but during the fight I just knew, even if Spike doesn’t want us, even if Spike lets us go, I knew we were going to make it. Someone was going to want this. This thing is on a roll, this thing can’t be stopped.”

Bonnar finished his career with a 15-9 MMA record. His last fight was a TKO loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 153 in 2012. He tested positive for anabolic steroids after the fight.

Bonnar was inducted alongside Griffin to the UFC Hall of Fame in 2013.
