UFC on FOX 11 Draws 1.99 Million Viewers

UFC on FOX 11: Werdum vs. Browne took place on Saturday at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., drawing 1.99 viewers on FOX. The event went head-to-head with the NBA and NHL playoffs.

UFC on FOX 11 was the first time the Las Vegas-based fight promotion held an event in Orlando. Fabricio Werdum solidified himself as the top contender to champion Cain Velasquez’ heavyweight title by soundly defeating Travis Browne by unanimous decision in the main event.

Former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate scored her first UFC win in the co-main event. Tate lost her promotional debut to Cat Zingano in April 2013. She coached The Ultimate Fighter 18 opposite champion Ronda Rousey and lost to Rousey at UFC 168 in December. She defeated former title challenger Liz Carmouche on Saturday by unanimous decision in a closely contested bout.

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone came from behind to knockout Edson Barboza in lightweight action, while Yoel Romero showed he’s someone to watch out for in the middleweight division by defeating Brad Tavares by unanimous decision.

17,000 spectators attended the event garnering a $1.65 million gate.
