The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s first trip to Scotland resulted in a sellout crowd at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday. 10,451 spectators filled the arena garnering live gate figures totaling $1.5 million.
British middleweight Michael Bisping narrowly defeated Brazilian Thales Leites by split decision in the fight card’s main event. Leites seemingly hurt Bisping on a few occasions throughout the five-round bout, but Bisping’s volume of strikes swayed the judges in his favor.
Lightweight journeyman Evan Dunham dominated England’s Ross Pearson in the co-main event. He utilized his grappling ability to repeatedly take Pearson down and control him.

Those in attendance also witnessed rising lightweight Joseph Duffy make his second octagon appearance and get a second consecutive finish. Famous for his 38-second finish of Conor McGregor in 2010, Duffy submitted Ivan Jorge by triangle choke in the opening round.
Scotland’s own Joanne Calderwood rebounded from her first career loss by defeating Cortney Casey by unanimous decision in women’s strawweight action. Casey was a late replacement for the injured Bec Rawlings. Calderwood precision striking was too much for the UFC newcomer.
