UFC 303: Latest on main card, odds after Conor McGregor-Michael Chandler fight canceled

After concerns from fans and media following a canceled news conference last week, UFC president Dana White confirmed that multiple-time champion fighter Conor McGregor will not return to the Octagon to fight Michael Chandler in UFC 303 on June 29.

White confirmed in a video that McGregor will not be able to fight due to injury.

This was supposed to be McGregor's first UFC competition since he suffered a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. He has since been a coach on "The Ultimate Fighter 31," and had his feature film debut in the Amazon MGM Studios film "Road House," a remake of the 1989 film.

This was Chandler's first scheduled bout since a loss to Poirier at UFC 281 in November 2022. Chandler responded with a post on his Instagram page in partnership with sponsor MegaFit Meals.

The headline fight for the Las Vegas event is now a bout for the light heavyweight title between current champion Alex Pereira and Jiří Procházka. Two more bouts have been added as well, including featherweights Diego Lopes and Brian Ortega facing off in the co-main event.
