UFC 293 results: Tyson Pedro breaks out sword celebration after bludgeoning knockout of Anton Turkalj

Tyson Pedro made quick work of Anton Turkalj en route to victory Saturday at UFC 293.

In a light heavyweight bout that opened up the main card at Qudos Arena in Sydney, Pedro (10-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) knocked out Turkalj (8-3 MMA, 0-3 UFC) with the stoppage at 2:12 of Round 1.

Once he got going, it seemed like Pedro couldn’t miss – particularly with his right hand. A combination knocked Turkalj off balance, but “The Pleasure Man” remained upright. After a few more combinations, a Pedro right hand put Turkalj down. A wicked hammerfist followed and turned Turkalj’s lights out.

With the victory, Pedro bounces back after a February unanimous decision loss to Modestas Bukauskas. He has now won three of his most recent four. In defeat, Turkalj has now lost three consecutive bouts to start his UFC tenure.
