UFC 200 Results: Daniel Cormier Grabs Unanimous Decision Over Anderson Silva

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier went the distance with Anderson Silva on Saturday, picking up a unanimous decision on the UFC 200 main card at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Silva attempted to keep his opponent at bay, but Cormier eventually closed the distance and put the former UFC middleweight champion on the ground. Cormier smothered Silva from various top positions, landing ground and pound throughout the opening round.

Early in the second round, Silva attempted some flashy kicks, but Cormier defended well and again got a takedown. Cormier again pounded away at his opponent for an extended period of time, but the two were eventually stood up for inactivity. Cormier and Silva traded strikes before clinching against the cage through the end of the round.

The third and final round started scrappy with both fighters throwing various power shots, some hitting the mark while others missed wildly. Cormier, however, secured another takedown and kept Silva on the ground with heavy top game and strikes. At the two-minute mark, they were stood up again due to inactivity. Soon after, Silva landed a kick to Cormier's ribs that made the light heavyweight champion wince just seconds before the fight's time expired.

With the win, Cormier improves his record to 18-1 and awaits his next challenger for the light heavyweight title.
