Udinese boss Kosta Runjaic warns: “The pressure is on Roma.”

Udinese coach Kostas Runjaic spoke ahead of this weekend’s fixture with Roma.

During today’s press conference, Runjaic previewed the upcoming match with the Giallorossi which happens to take place in a difficult moment for the capital club who have just dismissed Daniele De Rossi and facing pressure from the unhappy fans.

“Generally we focus first and foremost on ourselves, what happens in Rome shouldn’t interest us, we are happy to be first and to provide this happy moment to the fans who have suffered in the past.”

“However, we don’t think too much about the standings, we think about the game we are about to play,” Runjaic continued.

“There is a new coach in Rome and this brings some difficulties, but I know well how my team will play, I can’t know for sure how they will play but what is certain is that the pressure is on them and therefore they will play to win, but we too will go there to play a serious match.”

“I’m happy to be able to play this match, I’ve never been to Rome even as a tourist and I’ll be happy to see it.”

“Roma have made several new signings, just look at their value, they have a lot of talent and if we play like in the first half in Parma, things can go wrong. We have to get off to a good start.”

“Surely Juric will give his instructions to the team, they will play with energy, they will put pressure on us, that’s why we have to resist and concentrate on our own performance. The focus is on my team and on daily work, I can’t predict whether Roma will play man to man or with which others variants will come into play. We know their players, we will prepare accordingly.”
