Following last week’s 2024/25 UEFA Champions League draw, Juventus now knows their eight opponents in the League Phase of the new-look competition, with their opening clash scheduled to take place at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday, 17 September against PSV Eindhoven.

This will be the first time the two teams will face each other in any European comeptition, though PSV are the fourth Dutch side the Bianconeri will face off against on the continent, after Ajax, Feyenoord and Twente. The last time Juve faced a side from the Eredivisie was in April 2019, in the quarter-final of the Champions League.

PSV’S HISTORY

PSV is a club with a rich history in European and Dutch football. Founded in 1913, they are one of the most prestigious clubs in the Netherlands. The Rood-witten (Red and whites) have won the Dutch league 24 times, winning the Eredivisie title last season with 91 points, with 11 KNVB Cup titles to their name. Internationally, PSV is known for winning the Champions Cup in 1988, an achievement that solidified their place among the big European clubs. World-class talents have passed through Eindhoven, including, to name a few, Ruud Gullit, Romário, Ronaldo and Arjen Robben.
