Spanish national team boss Luis de la Fuente was unable to call upon two important members of his squad, in group training on Tuesday.

As much has been confirmed by COPE, who point towards Álvaro Morata and Pau Torres as the pair in question.

Spain’s star-studded squad reconvened for the latest time on Monday, ahead of an upcoming pair of Nations League fixtures against Denmark and Switzerland.

Earlier today, La Roja’s players were in turn put through their paces, by boss De la Fuente and his staff.

Playing no part, though, were the aforementioned Álvaro Morata, and Pau Torres.

In the case of the former, frontman Morata has not yet been given the medical green light to return to group activities, after suffering a blow to the head in AC Milan’s draw with Cagliari over the weekend.

Defender Torres, meanwhile, is understood to be struggling with muscular overload.

Both players are therefore in something of a race against time, to play their part against Denmark in Copenhagen on Friday night.
