Two Saskatoon Blades Commit To Quinnipiac

Two members of the WHL's Saskatoon Blades have committed to Quinnipiac, it was announced earlier this week.

Defenseman Ben Saunderson and forward Ben Riche will join the Bobcats for the 2025-26 season.

This season, Saunderson has collected three goals and 15 assists for 18 points in 29 games while Riche has 17 goals and 22 assists for 39 points in 28 games.

A product of Carberry, Man., Saunderson has spent parts of five seasons with the Blades since being drafted by the team in the fifth round of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft. Over that span, he has nine goals and 69 points in 221 career regular season games.

Drafted by the Moose Jaw Warriors in the second round of the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, Riche is in his first season with the Blades after having previously suited up for the Warriors and the Victoria Royals. Over 161 career games, he has put up 40 goals and 92 points.

With both players making their impact felt for the Blades this season, it wouldn't be a surprise to see both of them contribute right out of the gates for the Bobcats.
