Two leading members of the midfield setup at La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday forwarded messages of support the way of Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal.

This, of course, comes after Carvajal was condemned to a long-term spell on the sidelines.

After being forced into a premature departure from Real Madrid’s La Liga downing of Villarreal on Saturday night, the 32-year-old was subsequently diagnosed with ‘a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, a ruptured external collateral ligament and a ruptured popliteus tendon in his right leg’.

Carvajal, as a result, is expected to spend the remainder of the season on the treatment table.

Messages of support, in turn, have since come pouring in for the Spanish international, from across the football landscape.

And, as alluded to above, over the course of the last couple of hours, two players to have added their names to the list of Carvajal’s well-wishers come in the form of Barcelona duo Pedri, and Gavi.

First, in a post on his official Instagram account, Pedri wrote:

‘Lots of support brother. We will soon cry together again but with joy and love.’

And as much was soon followed by fellow Blaugrana midfielder Gavi – sidelined with his own ACL injury at present – adding:

‘Stay strong my Carva! You will return like the animal you are.’
